Umema Sharafali is passionate about creating a more equitable and connected city, and has spent over 7 years facilitating learning and collaborative processes towards this vision. She has worked with grassroots leaders, social sector organizations, and public sector players through her work at The East Scarborough Storefront, and currently as the Coordinator for Learning Opportunities with the Centre for Connected Communities.
Beyond facilitating change, Umema loves crafting and finding creative ways to reuse and repurpose things. She is also an avid non-fiction reader and loves to dance, performing mainly in her living room.
Umema holds a Bachelors in Environmental Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a past Learning Circle Fellow with In With Forward.
