Manjit Sharma currently sits on the boards of Vermilion Energy Inc., Export Development Canada, Finning International and is a member of the GE Canada Pension Trust Committee. Manjit has over 30 years of experience operating in complex global organizations across many industry sectors: power, energy, transportation, aviation, healthcare, consumer products, oil & gas, financial services, and consulting.
Manjit most recently served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer for WSP Canada Inc. (WSP). Prior to WSP, Manjit was Chief Financial Officer for General Electric Canada (GE Canada) and was part of the National Executive Team. Manjit’s responsibilities included strategic planning and analysis, mergers & acquisitions, tax, risk, and governance. Manjit served as a Board Director of GE Canada Company. GE Nuclear-Hitachi, GE Money, among other GE legal entities. Manjit chaired the GE Canada Pension Trust overseeing investment strategy for ~$2B in plan assets. While at GE, she held numerous responsibilities including Vice President Finance, Vice President Business Development, Shared Global Business Services Leader, Commercial Finance Leader, National Diversity & Inclusion Leader and National Ombudsman. Prior to GE, Manjit was Controller at OPSEU Pension Trust. Manjit also worked at Inco Limited (now Vale Canada), where she completed several international assignments in the US, Hong Kong, China, and London. Manjit earned her Chartered Accountancy designation with KPMG where she conducted audits in Manufacturing, Retail, Insurance and Banking.

an Executive Advisory Committee Member and past Board Member and Audit
Committee Chair of the Bentall Green Oak Prime Canadian Fund (~$6B in assets
under management).
Active in the community, Manjit
has served as a Board Member of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Board Member,
Audit Committee Chair, and Investment Committee Member of the YMCA Greater
Toronto Area, she was past Governor of the Junior Achievement of Central
Ontario and is a past Financial Executives Institute’s Young Luminaries Mentor.
Manjit holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is an FCPA FCA. Manjit has completed her director certification and holds an ICD.D designation. Manjit is also an Alumni of the Rotman School of Management’s Judy Program for Executive Women in Leadership. Manjit was recently recognized in 2019 by WXN as one of the Canada’s Topmost 100 Powerful Women.
