Edwin White Chacon’s involvement with CivicAction began in 2015 when he approached them with the idea of starting CivicSpark – a university-based group that organizes public policy competitions at the undergraduate level. Since then, he has helped coordinate competitions that focused on issues such as public transportation, affordable housing and environmental sustainability. After graduating from University of Toronto’s Political Science and Ethics, Society & Law program, he took his passion for working to develop the skills of young people to the Ministry of Labour, Training, and Skills Development where he now provides operational and technical expertise on Ontario’s employment and training programs, services and systems.
In his free time, Edwin likes to read about Canadian history, check out fun events happening around the city and volunteer in the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Sick Kids hospital.
