Following the retail rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday is a day celebrating generosity and giving in all forms.
On December 1st, 2020, millions of Canadians and people around the world will come together (while physically apart) to unlock their generosity and make a positive change to improve communities.
Each one of us has something to give whether it’s our time, talent, or dollars. Here are 3 ways you can join the global giving movement:

Volunteer
As emerging leaders, we all have talent to offer the world. Whether you can help plant trees, serve on a board, or offer pro-bono advice and support to a charity in need, your help is needed!
To find local volunteering opportunities in your community, look for volunteering hubs like Volunteer Toronto or Volunteer MBC , or search databases like Charity Village, Spark Ontario or Canada Service Corps.

Spread the Word
One of the most powerful tools you have as an emerging leader is your voice and platform. You have already established, or are in the process of building, networks to surround yourself with other leaders. On Giving Tuesday, share your giving goals on social media using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayCA to inspire your network to give with you. Tag the non-profit or charity you support, and encourage others to join you!

Donate
Charities need your support this year more than ever. COVID-19 has forced many charities to cancel fundraising events, causing them to lose critical funds. This GivingTuesday, search online for your favourite charity and make a donation. Whether you give $5 or $100, every dollar makes a difference.
Plus, did you know the CivicAction Leadership Foundation is a charity too?
