Nadjib Alamyar is a Case Counsellor Specialist (Settlement) at WoodGreen Community Services. A passionate, highly engaging and proactive Case Counsellor Specialist with over two years experience in newcomer settlement, Nadjib has a genuine commitment to ensuring better life for newcomers in Toronto. Currently Nadjib works on an initiative that brings together a community health team to provide shared care for patients. Nadjib has an MA degree in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Ryerson University and BA Honours from the University of Toronto. In his spare time Nadjib volunteers as the Co-chair of Bloor Street United Church Refugee Sponsorship Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors for the East Toronto Community Legal Services. In April 2016, Nadjib was recognized with the Dennis Mock Student Leadership Award presented by Ryerson University for his work with Syrian refugees in Toronto. He was also awarded the Service Excellence Award by WoodGreen Community Services CEO Anne Babcock for his excellent work on the city’s H.O.M.E portal for refugees.
