Born in Mississauga, Lana Majid is a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and now lives in Toronto where she is working to close the health gap and improve health outcomes for all Ontarians. Passionate about reducing inequities that can isolate, underserve and neglect vulnerable populations, Lana has implemented a new public dental program for kids called Healthy Smiles Ontario and has led Ontario’s Syrian refugee resettlement health file. To Lana, leadership means possessing an authentic, inherent ability to empower others and she believes in building a GTHA where diverse leaders not only have a seat, but also a voice at the table. Active in the city-building space, Lana recently served on CivicAction’s Emerging Leaders Network executive committee as Events & Programming Lead. Connect with Lana here.
